What can I expect from my session?
Before each session, a pre-consultation will be performed to find out where the source of your pain is coming from and an attack plan will be written up.
Do I have to be completely undressed for my session
The client can dress down to their comfort level. I usually always have the client keep the underwear on, and if working on the upper back I have the client take the bra off. If they desire, they can re-hook the bra once that section has been worked on.
Is there a sheet to cover up my body?
Yes, draping will be used to cover your body. Only the body part that is being worked on will be uncovered.
Will the session be painful?
Depending on how long you’ve been in pain, the worked area can feel anywhere from slightly uncomfortable to slightly painful. Always communicate with your therapist/bodyworker about the level of discomfort and pressure; techniques performed can be counter-productive if the client tightens up the areas being worked on.
What should I do during the session?
You want to focus on relaxing your body. Deep breathing helps as it helps the body relax. Additional tension will accumulate if you hold your breath during the deep techniques.
What body parts will be worked on during the session?
Typically for a 1 hour session, usually 1-2 muscle groups will be worked on thoroughly.
For a 1.5 hour session, 2-3 muscle groups thoroughly.
For a 2 hour session 2-3 primary muscle groups along with the rest of the body (time permitting)
Will I be sore after my session?
Your body can feel a bit sore in the areas that were worked on extensively as the adhesions in the muscles are becoming unstuck.
